UncleStreamus Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

UncleStreamus is a radio player app for the Zappateers 24/7 Frank Zappa stream. This policy describes what data the app accesses and how it is used.

Affiliation and trademarks

UncleStreamus is an independent, unofficial radio player. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Frank Zappa, the Zappa Family Trust, the Zappateers community, shoutcast.norbert.de, or any rights holder of the broadcast content.

The app does not host, own, store, or distribute any audio recordings. It is a player for a publicly accessible third-party internet radio stream; all audio is streamed directly from its existing source. All musical works, recordings, artist names, and trademarks — including "Frank Zappa" and "Zappa" — are the property of their respective owners. Such names are used here for descriptive and identification purposes only.

If you are a rights holder and have a concern about this app, please contact us at unclestreamusapp@gmail.com.

Data we do not collect

UncleStreamus does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.

Data stored locally on your device

• Listen history and favourites — shows you have listened to and marked as favourite are stored locally using SwiftData. This data never leaves your device.
• App preferences — settings such as your chosen stream format, text size, and audio FX values are stored in standard system preferences (UserDefaults) on your device only.
• DVR buffer — when the DVR feature is active, a short rolling audio buffer (up to 15 minutes) is written to your device's temporary storage. It is deleted when the app is closed or the buffer is cleared.

Network requests

UncleStreamus connects to the following external services solely to provide app functionality:

• shoutcast.norbert.de — to stream audio and retrieve now-playing metadata.
• zappateers.com — to retrieve setlist and show information for the currently playing concert.
• donlope.net — to look up additional track information when you tap the "Track Info" button. This is optional and only triggered by your action.

No identifying information is sent to any of these services. Connections are standard HTTP/HTTPS requests indistinguishable from a web browser visit.

Children's privacy

UncleStreamus does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
